Sea Freight
Our main port is located at Chittagong which is about 5 hours roadway at South East of the Capital City Dhaka by truck and there is also a rail road from Dhaka ICD directly into Chittagong port which handles about 150,000 tons consignment in and out per annum with generous CY and CFS facilities having received technical aid and advice from Singapore port authority.
All cargo moves via common carrier feeder vessel to Singapore for trans-shipments to mother vessels departing for USA/Europe. Only exception is NOL USA E/C service which moves 2 per week via Colombo. Transit time from Chittagong to Singapore is approx 5 days.
All carriers have an allocated CFS area within the Chittagong CFS building and forwarder use carrier CFS.
Only Novo have been allocated their own CFS area. Consolidation is also done at the Dhaka ICD. NOVO personnel supervise all containers loading. A fleet of 9 prime movers allow them to arrange local haulage and Stuffing at factory themselves.
